Description

Hello All,

With much sadness, my financial situation is such that I have to sell one of my all-time favorite gems. This is an outstanding, never-set, Takara Ideal cut lab-created diamond created by the HPHT method by BetterThanDiamond, the creator of the Amora Gem. While CVD diamonds are becoming much more common these days, HPHT diamonds are still a rarity and are generally more pure than CVD. They also don't require additional heating and pressure treatment to become colorless, unlike many CVD diamonds. They also generally have less internal strain compared to CVD diamonds. (This shouldn't scare you away from CVD diamonds though. I own several and love them all. But HPHT is the cream of the crop when it comes to man-made diamonds.)

Last I checked there was still a waiting list for these in several sizes. Based on the current inventory list, this diamond I'm offering would be the largest you can get right now. I'm even offering it at a discount! I don't think I've ever seen one of these come up in the pre-owned world before. I understand why... once you have one you'll never want to give it up. That's certainly the case for me! Part of me hopes it won't sell.

That being said, here are the details. It is an E color (although I can never see a difference between this and a D color diamond) and VS2 clarity. Although I've shown the inclusion in the pictures (it's circled in red in the second picture - all other spots are dust), I have never met a diamond with such a difficult-to-find inclusion! I have great close-up vision, but even when I intentionally look for the inclusion, with a loupe, I still can't find it more than half of the time. Only under certain lighting conditions, and with lots of magnification, can I ever see it. It's definitely an eye-clean diamond!

The cut is fantastic! It has Tolkowsky Ideal proportions for maximum brilliance, and just the right amount and size of scintillation. The only thing imperfect about it is that the Symmetry grade "only" got Very Good. To this day, I can't see what caused this less than perfect grade. Whatever it is, it doesn't show! I've seen many diamonds with Excellent Symmetry that look plain terrible compared to this diamond. This is probably due to the difference in physical symmetry (which is what the grade is based on) and optical symmetry (which is what is important for an Ideal cut diamond to be classified as Hearts and Arrows, and for the most part is independent of the actual Symmetry grade).

This diamond weighs 1.31 ct. and is about 7.1 mm in diameter. It is IGI certified (the certificate will be included in the sale, obviously haha).

Contact me with questions, reasonable offers, and requests for more pics. I can even send a video of this diamond's beautiful scintillation. I'm happy to take a picture in any lighting condition/environment that you can think of as well. I want you to be happy and confident with your purchase! I'll do whatever I can to make that so.

I don't think anyone could be disappointed with this diamond! Pictures just don't do it justice! US sale strongly preferred please. Canada should also be okay. Please don't use the buy-it-now option if you are located outside the US though. If you pay my full asking price, I'll cover shipping and insurance and PayPal fees (if you elect to not use "friends and family"). Otherwise I ask that you pay shipping and we can split insurance and fees, unless we agree otherwise. I'm just an individual, so NO RETURNS please! Let's make sure you're 100% sure about what you're getting before you buy, so that there's no chance you'll want to return it. I'm truly an honest person though, so if I've made a huge mistake somehow, I'll do my best to make it right.

Thanks for looking!
