This 10mm wide ring is made with great flair and innovation. A superb design, the inspiration taken from the Ardagh Chalice, a national treasure proudly on display in Dublin Museum. Found by accident in 1868 by two farmers digging potatoes. The filigree band on the original Chalice has a series of shield decorations combined with a complex and highly decorative Celtic pattern. This design forms the basis of the ring and the pattern sweeps around the entire band. Craftsmen have used exceptional sterling silver to recreate a replica of the Ardagh Chalice design. The decorative pattern is oxidized or blackened to give it that 'lived' in look. The outer rims are polished to a mirror sheen which enhances the intricate design.
