One of a kind green tourmaline, sterling silver and 18K gold pendant on a handmade beaded Kumihimo (Japanese braiding technique) necklace with sterling silver end caps and a large, easy to use lobster clasp. The pendant and necklace were made to go together, but can be worn separately.
The pendant was made by Biondo. The triangular stone is Petercite. The sterling silver bail is handmade and has an interesting texture pattern in 18K gold overlaid on it. There are two clear green tourmalines mounted on the bail. The faceted oval stone on the front is 8 mm tall X 6 mm wide and the stone is prongset. The round cabonchon on the top is 5 mm in diameter and the stone is bezel set. The pendant is 40 mm long and 21 mm wide at its widest point. The bail is quite large and will handle a chain 7 mm in diameter.
The back of the bail is marked 18K for the gold and 999 for the sterling silver, and has Biondo's hallmark.
The necklace was braided with glass seed beads by Biondo's wife and partner in his jewelry business. It was braided using the Kumihimo technique from Japan. It is 18 inches long and 5 mm wide. The large lobster clasp is easy to use. The necklace is a beautiful complement to the pendant.
This necklace and pendant were $400.00 originally. I just don't wear them as often as the other pendants I've bought from Biondo.
